Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
CSA's are communities of individuals (or families) who pledge to support local farms by purchasing a share of their expected yields in advance. In return the "shareholder" receives a portion of the fresh produce as the crops mature during the season.
This arrangement not only provides the necessary working capital to support the farmer and maintain operations, but also provides CSA shareholders an ability to reconnect with their food production and foster a relationship with a local business person.
